Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, thousands of rural houses in Ukraine have been damaged or completely destroyed. The goal of the RE:Ukraine Villages project is to preserve the well-formed organic image of Ukrainian villages and safeguard it from being erased by typical buildings.
Thanks to the practices of digital architecture, bureau's team formulated a design code for the de-occupied areas. We compiled our findings and observations into an accessible online constructor that will help homeowners quickly make the necessary decisions and start rebuilding.

How it works
We sought to make the project relevant to modern needs and create an online constructor as flexible and adaptable as possible.
After completing all the steps, a user gets a ready-made pdf manual with isometry, plans, drawings, facade scans, a technical description, and finishing materials recommendations.
One can choose the size of the house that meets your personal needs, as well as its planning, for which we have collected options common in Ukrainian rural architecture.
Expeditions
The RE:Ukraine Villages project started out with an expedition to the villages of the de-occupied Kyiv oblast – this area was the first in a series of our research. During these travels our team visited 17 villages in the region. The Chernihiv oblast and the de-occupied parts of the Slobozhanshchyna are next, followed by the rest of Ukraine.
Creating the constructor
Parallel to the completion of the work on the elements and their blueprints, the development of the RE:Ukraine Villages online constructor continued. Programming its functionality was one of the most technological tasks in the history of balbek bureau – the Entire Framework development bureau powered the project's technical implementation.
